10/6/2019 Julian Lage How Many Hours Practice
I love Julian Lage and his work. I follow since I saw a clip of his work on Linda Manzer's website, some 5 or 6 years ago. His workload is beyond breathtaking. And it shows.
In his achievements first and foremost. But also in his appearance.

5-Minute Lesson: Practice & Warm-Up Tips by Julian Lage Julian Lage, 28, is an American jazz guitarist and composer known for his solo, duo, and ensemble work. In this 5-Minute Lesson, Lage explains the benefits. The absence of a conventional drum kit leads to an open sound and approach that places the emphasis on free improvisation and highlights Julian Lage's prodigious technique.
I more and more get the impression he is physically exhausted. Such a young man, working his heart and soul out since he is a little kid. Look at his left hand how it's shaking. Now I have listened to and enjoyed his work for probably hundreds of hours.
But I haven't spent a penny on it. Thank you, internet.

This is the first installment of my guitar etude video blog. My goal is to write a series of 13 etudes that serve as compositional and technical studies, highlighting new approaches and concepts I am currently exploring. It is my hope, that these pieces will offer insight into my curiosity about the inner workings of the guitar as well as provide material for other players to use as a launch pad for furthering their own development on the instrument. I hope you enjoy! Thank you for listening, julian.
